USAT Junior National Championships

Finish Strong athletes Lane Barron, 13, and Ian Richardson, 18,  both qualified and participated in the USAT Junior National Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 11.

Lane had a good solid race in the youth elite division.  He came in 54 out of 75 participants in the 13-15 year old age group.  (He was the 6th among 13 year olds.)  He finished in 36:35.  His splits were 6:31 swim, an amazing 17:00 bike (21:55/pace), 11:08 run. (7:10/mi pace)

Ian Richardson had a nice race and finished in 1:04:49 in the junior race.  He had a 12:34 swim, 32:22 bike, and blistering 17:54 run (5:45/mi pace).  He was 45 out of 65 for his division.

Lane's mom, Carolyn reports, "The swim was a bit rough- washing machine like and a new experience diving off a pontoon, but overall a nice venue and great weather!"

Technology is so cool. We were able to watch our individual athletes throughout the course at this link.  http://zumtri.com/race_files/USATJuniorElite2012/ZumTri.html#r=256&r1=106&r2=112.  Check it out!
