Ironman Mount Tremblant

On Sunday, August 19, Finish Strong Triathletes Josh Scott, Jim Harrington, and Winston Cervantes, took on Ironman Mount Tremblant in Quebec, Canada.  They started the day with a 2.4-mile (3.8 km) swim in Tremblant Lake, followed by a two-loop, 112-mile (180 km) bike course that ran  largely through Mont-Tremblant’s forests and mountains, then embarked on the two-loop, 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run course into the heart of the pedestrian village of Tremblant Resort.

Josh (35-39 AG) had an overall time of 11:10:52.  His splits were 1:06:23 swim, 5:52:13 bike, and 4:03:04 run.

Jim (45-49 AG) finished in 11:41:21.  His splits were 1:03:48 swim, 6:00:49 bike, and 4:24:41 run.

Winston (40-44 AG) finished the race in 12:45:25 .  His splits were: 1:28:58 swim, 6:10:31 bike, and 4:46:23 run.

Winston reports, "I almost ran a race according to plan and was very happy and confident until mile 18 in the run when my IT Band seized up. There was no way to ease it or fix it, so I had to shuffle the last 8 miles like an injured athlete. Then the rain poured! Time was 12:45:25, a minute more than my IMTX.

I highly recommend IMMT. It's a beautiful venue with a challenging bike course. The community embraced the event with open arms. It felt like I was racing in Europe."
