It's official! The Woodlands will be the home for Ironman Texas for at least the next 5 years.
The event (2.4 mile swim/112 mile bike/26.2 mile run)will be held on the 3rd Saturday in May which for 2011 is May 21st. The swim will be in Lake Woodlands with the transition area (both T1 and T2) will be in Town Green Park. The bike course is still a work in progress. The run will probably be a multi-loop course.
The website is already up (http://www.ironmantexas.com/) and registration opens at noon on Friday. I expect the race to be popular and should fill up quickly.
