Day After the End of the World Half Marathon
Finish Strong's Jane Foley finished first overall for females at the Day-After-the-End- of-the-World Half Marathon held on December 22. Jane reports, "It was on trails, grass and
sand so it was pretty tough. I was misdirected at the finish and did an extra
1/2 mile by accident. Anyway that said I was still the first woman to finish
overall with a time of 1.44 (slower than I wanted but it was off road and 13.68
miles). My average pace was 7.38/mile, so I m
very happy with the final result. So I did finally place in the top 3 in 2012 ." Hurray!!!!!!

Boerne Duathlon
Finish Strong's Jim Harrington raced at the Boerne Duathlon (5K run/25K bike/5K run) on Sunday, December 2 in Boerne City.
Jim reports that the race was very challenging with wet, slippery roads. "It rained right up to the start of the race making the roads very slippery. Add over half a mile to each run and 2 miles extra on the bike and it was plenty challenging for my first du."
Nevertheless, Jim went from 25th after his first run (26:37) to 14th after the bike (55:51) to his final run (26:08) to finish in 11th overall and 2nd in his 45-49 age group. Jim finished with an overall time of 1:49:44. Congrats!
